Scha - den - freu - de

noun
pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.
ORIGIN German, from Schaden ‘harm’ + Freude ‘joy.’

Owners have no right of way to their €1m homes
The shocking absence of legal title to the access roads to Elton Court in Dublin's Sandycove came to light when Ronbow Management Company Limited, the management company that runs the estate with and for the residents, tried to block a local vegetable sales man parking his delivery van in sight of their plush properties.

Niall Beirne, counsel for Tommy Byrne who used to grow his veggies on the plots where the multi-million-euro Elton Court now stands, said the residents claimed the delivery van lowered the tone of the area.......

Mr Beirne said Sorahan's, the developers, had granted them a licenced spot to park their delivery van or car in Elton Court where the residents now leave their bins but his clients, who were elderly, had been unable to continuously walk the 185 metres to and from this parking spot.

They maintained they were entitled to park their car beside their home which was disputed by Ronbow Management Company Limited. Mrs Byrne told the court that residents had visited her home when her husband Tommy had been upstairs ill and had threatened to stay put until the vehicle was moved.

So a bunch of Nouveau Riche assholes tried to bully an elderly couple, that had resided in the area for 35 years, because their presence was visible proof of actual 'working-class' people and therefore lowered the tone of the area

oh well the best part of all this was:
Suzanne Boylan, counsel for the company and the residents, told the court the defendants were unable to consent to the Byrne's obtaining an easement to park because of the difficulty with legal title to rights of way on access roads to the estate.

She said the lack of legal title was causing the residents serious problems and they would have difficulty selling their homes without full right of way title.

LOL - pity about the fact that your houses are now going to be worth less. Serves 'em right

Spanish Royals in Cartoon Censorship Shocker!

Banned Cartoon of Spanish Prince Felipe giving it doggy-style to his missus, Letizia Ortiz, 34, a former television news presenter

Original here

Spanish royal sex cartoon banned
"In the cartoon, Crown Prince Felipe is talking about the Spanish Government's decision to pay €2500 ($3900) to the parents of every child born in the country in order to increase the birth rate.

The high court judge ruled that the cartoon insulted the royal family.

Judge Juan del Olmo ruled that the cartoon "struck at the honour and dignity of the people represented".

He also ordered the magazine to identify the author of the cartoon.

Slandering or defaming the Spanish royal family carries a two-year prison sentence.

Florida Republicans . . .

Bob Allen - For $20 he'll give you a blow-Job
S*ck, F*ck - 20 Buck?

are almost as hypocritical as Progressive Democrats

WTF is it with these guys ? This overweight lawmaker from Florida is State Rep. State Rep. Bob Allen . Co-Chairman for Sen. McCain's presidential committee. (presumably now ...er...ex - co Chairman)

He offered a cop (he didn't know it was a cop) in a public toilet in the Veteran's Memorial Park on East Broad St. in Titusville (20 miles from his home where he lived with his wife Beth and child) US$20 bucks if he would let him suck his cock perform an act of fellatio upon his person.

The thing is that Mr Bob Allen recently sponsored a bill in the Florida State Legislature widening the definition of, and penalties for, Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition
HOUSE BILL 1475

Sponsor: Rep. Bob Allen (R-Merritt Island).

Entitled : Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition: This bill broadens the scope of Section 800.04 of the Florida Statutes. That section specifically addresses "lewd or lascivious exhibition," including public masturbation. HB 1475 broadens the scope of 800.04 to include lewd acts committed in the presence of those of any age, not just those under the age of 16, as the existing law specifies. HB 1475 does not mention 800.03 at all, but it increases the penalty for lewd acts under 800.04

As I said, almost as hypocritical as a Progressive Democrat

Chief Rat says: 'I'm staying' as all other Rats beat a hasty retreat

PD's pretend they have options other than Harney
Mary Harney and the Rats

Mary Harney is to remain on as leader of the Progressive Democrats.

The Minister for Health has been acting leader since former Tánaiste Michael McDowell lost his seat in the General Election, and resigned from politics.

She said this was only a temporary measure as she did not want the job permanently, but at a PD parliamentary party meeting last night, she agreed to formally take over the position.

It now seems that the leadership contest planned for the Autumn will not take place.

Harney's reluctance is understandable now that people are beginning to wise up to the real nature of the PD"s Raison d'être. Not long ago, eyebrows were raised when Ex-Junior Minister of State, Tom Parlon (booted out of office by the Laois-Offaly voters, despite his christening of the area as 'Parlon Country') decided to accept a job with the Builders pressure/lobby-group, The Construction Industry Federation.
As part of his role in the last government, the former Laois-Offaly TD oversaw the Office of Public Works, which gives out lucrative contracts to construction firms.

Why this should come as a surprise to anyone totally astounds me:

In the free-market world of job employment, business ethics has become a privatised matter. By this material standard, Mr Parlon, who was reportedly head-hunted by the captains of brick and mortar, has followed this principle of mammon.

Ah, the principle of mammon, a phrase I think PD members and politicos have tattooed on the inside of their eyelids to constantly remind them of which God they serve.

Throughout their brief history the PD's have been at pains to remind us at every opportunity that they are in favour of private enterprise because it offers best value-for-money, so it is interesting that Parlon's first task in his new €250,000-a-year-post will be to attack the Gov'ts plans for obtaining value-for-money from the members of Construction Industry Federation (CIF):
The country's biggest builders' lobby group is confident that former Minister of State Tom Parlon will head up a legal challenge to a Government policy he once supported.

The 53-year-old, who has taken up a €250,000-a-year-post as head of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), will oversee its legal action against the new system of awarding fixed price state contracts.

A spokesman for the CIF confirmed that he would be responsible for following through the decision to challenge the move in the European Court of Justice.

"I'm sure Tom, given his background, will be a more than capable leader," its head of public affairs Martin Whelan said.

Last February, the government introduced the fixed price contracts for public building contracts in a bid to halt massive cost over-runs in such developments.

Mr Parlon, who was then Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works (OPW), described them as a "key reform" and said they would lead to "greater price certainty".

Hypocrisy, thy name is Progressive Democrat Tom Parlon
