Pictures Proof Positive Sarah Palin visited Ireland . . . in a Bikini

Some intarweb ne'er-do-well's have been spreading scandalous rumours in regard to John McCain's Vice President pick, Sarah Palin.

For example, some reprobate by the name of 'Chad', posted this at Buzzflash:

Palin also reportedly got her first passport in 2007, and she said she has been to Germany, Kuwait, and Ireland. (Until recently, going to Canada didn't require a passport.) But the Ireland visit was a refueling stop. That inaccuracy is bad enough, but we also have to get a correction from a Palin spokesman that she has visited Canada.

It is this sort of shoddy journalism that has, of late, given rise to the perception that the members of the Fourth Estate are little better than courtesans, and cheap ones at that.

Had they sought pictorial proof that Mrs Sarah Palin had indeed visited Ireland, they would have quite easily found it. I myself have several charming photographs of this beguiling lady. These photos quite clearly show that she has indeed visited Ireland.

She even took time out to visit Father Ted in Craggy Island in order to Judge the 'Lovely Girls' Competition. Sarah, being the irrepressible minx she is, decided to take part as well. Needless to say the locals were pretty impressed, and she of course, went on to win.

Lastly, here she is on a fishing trip

(I warned her about the rifle, that it wouldn't look good, but she insisted on exercising her 2nd Amendment rights, despite my pointing out to her that the 2nd Amendment only applied within the boundaries of the U.S.)

An 'emotional' Statesman

Ahh sure, gawd luv him. Wasn't he a daycent ould skin, all the same . . . . yis are all just feckin' begrudgers, trying to bring down a dedicated follower of businessmen . . .

In light of the long-overdue recent events . . .

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern announced this morning that he would be stepping down as leader of the Irish nation and Fianna Fail on May 6th.

Mr. Ahern stated his intention following the ongoing revelations from the Mahon Tribunal’s inquiry into corruption.

In an emotional statement from government buildings the Irish Leader announced his intention to step down, following allegations in mainstream Irish media of perjury. “Never, in all the time I’ve served in public life, have I put my personal interests ahead of the public good.”

I figured I'd repost a comment I left elsewhere (shame to waste it:) . . .

Oh he’s good at the ‘ould ‘emotional’ statements, alright. Hasn’t he had plenty of practice with the help of RTE over the past year. Remember his crocodile tears when he did his RTE news interview with Brian Dobson? The one where he pretended to be nearly on the verge of a mental breakdown due to the media ‘intrusion’ into his separation from his wife?



Jaysus wept!

Takes some neck to do that considering he was the one brought up his marital difficulties in a sad attempt to put the media off the scent.

After that, he was waving his dead mother around the place, like some voodoo charm, in a similar attempt to ward of the evhullll spirits of 'meejah intrusion’ into other dodgy bank lodgements.

‘Me dead mudder gave it to me! How could yis bring me dead mudder into it! Oh, the shame, she’d be turning in her grave!’

. . . and other such nonsense. Indeed the idiot brudder, Noel, went on RTE's Jo Duffy/Pat Kenny show (can't remember off-hand which it was but I assure you it was one of those two) to say exactly that. I'm paraphrasing a little but not much, trust me.

He told the tribunal his mother Julia, who died in 1998, gave him IR£7,000, which he lodged to his savings account in March 1993.

Having said all that, I shudder at the thought of the likes of Enda Kenny, the ball-less-wonder from ‘de Whesth’, winning an election and being in charge of the country. At least Bertie had the confidence of ‘de peepil’, sadly something Enda could never aspire to

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has denied that he has questions to answer in relation to a report in today's Irish Times that he received money from businessmen......He told journalists that it was 'none of their business' if he got something from somebody as a present.He said today's allegation that he had received payments of between €50,000 and €100,000 was 'off the wall' and 'an unfair, unjust leak'......Mr Ahern added that he was not answering what he got for his Holy Communion money, his confirmation money, or his birthday.

Luckily for An Taioseach, a lot of the people he claimed to have received money from are now dead. Dead men tell no Tribunals . . . .

Old First Communion photos found!

A friend of mine, working in an old photo library, sent me some old black and white photos of Irish children undergoing the sacrament of their First Communion. The first photo has the words St Patrick's National School, Drumcondra, 1959 scrawled on the back of it using what looks like one of those old fountain pens that you had to put the ink into yourself.

I thought it was a wonderful example of an Ireland of the past, before we got all corrupted by materialism and greed, and felt it would be educational to post it here, in order to remind myself, and others of a simpler, more pure Ireland, an Ireland closer to the crossroad-dancing idyll envisaged by our dear leader Dev, than the rampant Celtic Tiger we have today.
