Apparently . . .

The arrests were triggered after Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick, head of Scotland Yard's specialist operations wing, was photographed this morning clutching sensitive documents as he arrived in Downing Street. Clearly visible on top of a large bundle of papers under his arm was a white document marked "secret" that carried an outline for briefing on a current counter-terrorism operation. He was on his way to attend a cabinet security committee.

Well at least their arses are covered when it later turns out that the alleged "al-Qaida plot" was a complete fabrication.

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and suggest that this operation was carried out because Police felt the need to take the heat off of their comrades in the City of London Police Force.

Last week a man named Ian Tomlinson died at a protest outside the Bank of England in the heart of London's financial district, known as the "Square Mile".

Initially a Police spokes-thingy claimed Ian Tomlinson died of a heart attack and that Police Officers had being trying to help Ian Tomlinson but were hindered by missiles thrown by protesters.

It later turned out that the Police statement was totally untrue (ahem) appeared to be at odds with the few known 'facts' - Ian Tomlinson died after being assaulted by Police Officers in Riot gear, and many eye-witnesses claim that there were no missiles being thrown at Police, something confirmed by available video footage.

Interestingly enough, the Police also claim that CCTV-cameras in the area were mysteriously 'out-of-order'. Now, where have I heard that before?

I decided that I may have been a little too harsh in condemning the Irish People as "Hypocritical Scumbags" when I based that previous post on the results of two simple Google searches. You see, I merely searched for the words "Shane" and "Geoghegan" and then counted the results, eg:

So that would have brought up all pages from Ireland with the words "Shane" and "Geoghegan" in them. But how do we know these pages even refer to the Shane Geoghegan we were searching for? After all, if a page made reference to a Shane Boylan and an Andy Geoghegan then that page would also appear in our search.

Similarly, I searched for for the separate words "Brian" and "Rossiter" and then counted the results, eg:

So that would have brought up all pages from Ireland with the words "Brian" and "Rossiter" in them. But how do we know these pages even refer to the Brian Rossiter we were searching for?

So I decided to refine the search, in order to prove or disprove my point.

I loaded the exact phrase "Shane Geoghegan" and "Limerick" into Google's Advanced Search feature, which would return all pages from Ireland with the exact phrase "Shane Geoghegan" as well as the word "Limerick".

Similarly I loaded the exact phrase "Brian Rossiter" and "Clonmel" into Google's Advanced Search feature, which would return all pages from Ireland with the exact phrase "Brian Rossiter" as well as the word "Clonmel".

The results of the Google jury were:

Google Search pages from Ireland: "Shane Geoghegan" AND Limerick

Results 1 - 10 of about 46,500 for "Limerick" + "Shane Geoghegan".

So that is 46,500 pages from Ireland discussing the death of Shane Geoghegan in Limerick.

And for the 14 year old dead boy:

Results 1 - 10 of about 842 for "Clonmel" + "Brian Rossiter".

Now that is 842 pages from Ireland discussing the death of 14 year old Brian Rossiter in a Police cell in Clonmel.

That's far, FAR worse than I thought.

So it looks like I was right: The Irish People really REALLY ARE a bunch of Hypocritical Scumbags . . .

They live in a society that ignores the illegal actions of Gardai, while screaming for more law and order to tackle the ‘crime wave’

Maybe if the idiots demanded that Gardai caught breaking the law be sent to jail as often as poor people from the sink estates of Limerick go to jail when they break the law then we might be able to restore some respect for the law in this country.

If the people that are supposed to uphold the law are allowed to act with impunity, which they very obviously are, then what right we be outraged when others decide to break the law?

People are talking about marches to demand the killers of Shane Geoghegan be punished for their crimes.

Why are the same people not as outraged when grown men wearing police uniforms batter a 14 year old child to death in a cold cell in Clonmel?

To me the second of those is far more despicable then the first - simply because the Garda have SWORN to uphold the law

Brian Rossiter’s last week on this Earth consisted of series of violent attacks on his person by grown men twice his size. He died alone in a cold cell in Clonmel because the Irish people refuse to deal with the fact that Garda can do what they like without any fear of retribution, legal or otherwise. Where is the outrage?

Do people not realise that scumbags see this and see no reason why they too should follow the law?

I DO understand how people can get very militant in the wake of the behaviour that lead to the tragic death of Mr Geoghegan - BUT at the same time I find myself grasping for reasons to explain the almost deafening silence amongst the ‘plain people of Ireland’ regarding the death of the 14 year old boy.

The only reason I can come up with is that they really don’t care when it is the Gardai that kill people - the unspoken consensus seems to be that anyone that dies in Garda custody might have deserved it - especially if they come from the wrong side of the tracks.

Tons of outrage (and rightly so) for Mr Geoghegan - calls of ’string ‘em up’ etc.

Yet curiously none for a 14 yr old that may have been killed by the Gardai - I have yet to see any letters to any newspapers calling for us to ignore the civil rights of certain Gardai. No one has suggested stringing up any Gardai that may have been (legalese again) involved in Rossiter’s death. (not that I would support that)

One law for the ’scum’ but a very different legal system operating for the ‘connected’ ones - how the hell do Irish people expect to have a decent society under those conditions?

Brown envelopes for Politicians to make terrible planning decisions that leave massive social chaos in their wake. West Dublin, and many other parts of this island, is a social and planning nightmare for the future - directly the result of those brown envelope shenanigans of the politicians - how many of them are in jail now?

In what universe does a society function properly when there is very obviously one law for the ‘connected’ and a very different one for all others? Can anyone tell me that please, if you know?

This is a comment I posted to www.Indymedia.ie in relation to violence perpetrated against people in police custody.

In most societies, it is males that cause most of the violence, but those very same societies brutalise their males for more often, and with greater severity, than their females. So what the hell do they expect? Those who are the victims of outrages, quiet often go on to perpetrate outrages on others. Known fact, folks.

By the time a male has left his teens he will have been on the receiving end of far more violence than almost all females will ever have experience in their whole lives.

How much violence was Brian Rossiter on the receiving end of, in his very brief 14 year life?


Here is another comment I posted to www.Indymedia.ie in relation to violence in Irish society in general.

I have no idea if he is innocent or guilty in a moral sense, of the charges the Garda claim they were going to bring against him - and neither do you.

Equally I happen to know, and so do they if they stop to think about it, that the young man was also innocent - certainly in the legal sense - until convicted of this crime in a criminal court - that is what our courts are for, and that is the only sense that matters in our society, as the many Tribunals have demonstrated.

If you are advocating 'vigilante justice', then essentially you are supporting the type of crime YOU all have accused this young man of. For that is what he was apparently wanted by the Gardai for - vigilantism. That fact you can't see that surprises me not in the least. Seeing that would require using your brain for something other than plotting revenge against what you perceive to be the enemies of this wonderful society of ours.

You people demonstrate all that is wrong in our violent society. You're ultra-willing to believe anything the Garda and the Media tell you about the 'sumbags' that just happen to die in Garda custody, and yet at the same time you appear outraged at the level of violence in our society.

There a nice short word for what you are - Sheep, baa baaa, ya bloodthirsty Sheep (bit of an oxymoron there, I know, but I'll leave it in anyway ;-)

For some reason you can't see how the two are intimately intertwined.

It is a pity you appear to have neither the wit nor wisdom to see that.

God help us if you lot are indicative of the Irish mentality - and I truly fear that you are.

You only have yourselves to blame - you are willing to accept violence meted out by the state in our institutions, prisons, borstals, orphanages, Garda Stations etc. . You rail against the problems created in society by the high level of violence out there, and yet don't seem to have a clue how YOU yourselves are contributing towards it.

If you are willing to turn a blind eye towards the violence of State representatives, then yes YOU personally are responsible for the level of violence in the wider society.

But to be honest, I seriously doubt any of you will ever, EVER, comprehend that.

RTE's reporting of the Rossiter case
I was puzzled and to some degree I’m still puzzled by RTE’s coverage of the Brian Rossiter report.

The presenter of Today with Pat Kenny (See previous post) clearly said to Philip Boucher Hayes, who had seen the report:

“You’ve seen the report; the rest of us will not get to see the full report.”

I think the crucial word here is ‘full’. It seems that some of the report has been published but because the former Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, insisted on setting up the inquiry under the arcane Metropolitan Police Act, 1924, sections of the report must remain secret because the act offers no protection from defamation on publication.

For me, the most disturbing aspect of the report’s release is how RTE news dealt with the event. Admittedly, I’m only making comment here on one programme, Six One News, but the impression given, I think, was that the Gardai had little to answer for.

Viewers were not informed that the arcane legislation this inquiry was set up under would seriously compromise its publication. My understanding is that only a summary of the report has been published. Viewers were not told that they were only getting a small part of the story.

RTE news placed great emphasis on the unreliability of witnesses who were hostile to the Gardai.

While reporting that Brian Rossiter was unlawfully detained overnight by Gardai, RTE emphasised that Hugh Hartnett SC, the reports author, was not satisfied that Brian Rossiter was assaulted in Garda custody.

Viewers were not informed, however, that the report also found there was a statistical probability that Brian Rossiter sustained his fatal injury while in Garda custody.

I’m puzzled here because of the apparent contradiction, perhaps an expert witness came to the conclusion regarding the statistical probability. In any case, RTE did not make any of this clear to viewers.


The overall impression given was that the report was fully published, that all the details of the case were available and that the Gardai were, in the main, innocent of any wrongdoing.

The Rossiter family does not agree and are very unhappy with the report. I tend to agree with them

The United Nations Commission on Human Rights on 8 February 2005, defines impunity as:

"the impossibility, de jure or de facto, of bringing the perpetrators of violations to account – whether in criminal, civil, administrative or disciplinary proceedings – since they are not subject to any inquiry that might lead to their being accused, arrested, tried and, if found guilty, sentenced to appropriate penalties, and to making reparations to their victims.

Hola, Hola, Hola . . . 3 Top Cops, 3 Suicides(?) in 3 Days!

I was following the reddit comments discussing an (apparently non-Shakespearian :) earlier post I made here, and it occurred to me that to get some people to accept that conspiracies exist would take something akin to superhuman powers of persuasion.

The Reddit comment thread is named "3 Top Cops, 3 Suicides? and 3 Days" so I would have thought that contained all the info one might need to see the significance. It then occurred to me that even if these 3 dead Policemen were not 'Top Cops,' it would still be quite an interesting phenomenon, though one much more easily explained-away by the incurious as 'mere coincidence'. But if you note that, as one reddit-commenter did,

"you must admit that the most high profile one on the mountain is definitely strange. 2-3 weeks later and still no cause of death",

AND:

If you further note that there was a veritable media frenzy to try and deceive all-and-sundry into believing that not only was Shagger Todd very drunk he was also sending 'troubling texts' to many people which apparently put some of them in fear for their own safety.

Then consider that at the coroner's inquest it was found that: Shagger Todd had a mere 105 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters which by any standard could not be considered a high level, and certainly did not merit the Guardian headline description of a 'high level'.

Consider also that much was made in the media of the fact that a half empty bottle of Spirits was found nearby. Todd was certainly not the one that drank the missing half, not with a mere 105 per 100 in his blood stream, unless it was a very small bottle of spirits. Since no one mentioned the size of the bottle it is intended that the reader assume that the bottle was normal sized i.e a 75 cl bottle. It is highly unlikely that Todd drank half of a 75cl bottle and was found with a mere 105 per 100 unless one arrived on the mountain top with a bottle that had been opened on a previous occasion, which, though possible, appears unlikely to me.

Consider also that apparently we are to believe that Todd went up this mountain in the middle of one of the worst storms to have hit the area in a number of years.

Consider also that much was also made in the media of the 'fact' that personal papers of Mr Todd were found 'scattered nearby'. Apparently these 'personal papers' were printed on a new-fangled superduper papertype that does not get blown away in the worst storm to hit the area in recent years. I'm off out tomorrow to buy shares in the company that makes it - I'm gonna be rich I tell ya!

Consider also the copious references to Shagger Todds shagging exploits as an apparent explaination as to why he might 'suicide' himself. For a male such as Shagger Todd I very much doubt that revealing such shenanigans would lead him to contemplate commiting suicide, but I may be wrong. It has been my experience that men who act as he did, for as long as he did, rarely have much of a bad conscience about it.

Consider also that Sgt. Fuller was reported to have been in good spirits in the time before his 'suicide', but admittedly that was sourced to 'friends' and who know, maybe the journalist in question just made it up.

Consider also that Inspector Munro was initially reported to have suffered a head wound. But later statements by the police specified no head wound.

Consider also that Inspector Munro had recently become the father of a child,

Consider also the unsourced reporting of Inspector Munro's apparent depressed state of mind

The court was told he was known to be suffering from chronic depression. No press reports give the author of this information, it's source, or if any evidence , or witness was provided to substantiate the claim. (UPDATE Thursday The Daily Echo Monday 17th said Headline "Inquest hears of inspector’s stress" - (Coroner's officer ) Mr Jeneson said: "The inspector was known to be suffering from chronic depression and was last seen at lunchtime. The PA report used the phrase "chronic depression".) Evidently someone supplied Mr Jeneson with that information.

Consider also the preponderance of Freemasons in powerful (and useful) positions throughout the British Establishment:

Consider also that in a speech MP Chris Mullen gave to the House of Commons regarding the framing of the Birmingham Six he said that

of the 160 professional people connected with the case (by this he meant Police, Lawyers, Doctors and Journalists) over one hundred of them were found to be members of the Freemasons.
(That quote comes from Hansards originally, and may be slightly misquoted, but only slightly. You'll have to search pretty hard to find it there now, I couldn't)

Lastly, consider also that at present there have been numereous investigations into sexual abuse of children in British care homes, which were widely considered to be little more than coverups, and consider that in the case of Byyn Estyn, many of the abusers were reliably reported to be members of the Judiciary, local Politicians and Police Officers. British Freemasony gains much of it's notoriety from the fact that it draws many of it's members from the Police, the Judiciary, Politicians, Doctors and Journalists.

Admittedly my original post on the subject was badly wriiten so I hope that this one helps clarify things somewhat for the terminally incurious :)

On Monday, the 10th of March 2008, Police Sergeant Richard Fuller, 55, head of security for the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker-Horseface, was found dead after apparently shooting himself at his home.

The officer, who was nearing retirement, had seemed happy and showed no signs of depression.

But you probably didn't hear much about that because, . . . on Wednesday, the 12th of March, 2008, it was announced in the media that:

Manchester Chief Constable Michael Todd, 50, was found dead in Snowdonia, about 240 miles northwest of London,. . . . He had been missing since going out for a walk Monday during his day off.

and obviously since a Top Cop such as a Chief Constable of Manchester is far more important and therefore bigger news, than a mere Police Sergeant (even if he is 'head of security' for the Duchess of Horseface) Sergeant Fuller's death got scant notice in the rush to provide salacious details 'relating' to the death of Chief Constable Todd.


Now for those of you that are counting:

That’s two peelers immediately declared ‘suicided’ by the media, without any use of the word ‘apparent’, in the space of a few days.

What struck me most about the reporting on Chief Constable Tood's death was how quickly the media was saturated with stories of how he had been:

found dead next to a half-empty bottle of gin. His coat had also come off and some of his clothes were discovered nearby.

and also that he had been sending 'troubling' SMS messages to friends and collegues:

The BBC News BBC 4 "PM" at 5.00 pm GMT made the odd announcement that Michael Todd sent texts to friends on Monday afternoon which gave rise to concern that suggested danger to his life and that of the recipients . (This wording was slightly revised on the 6 o clock news)

Despite the media's many stories telling us in no uncertain terms that Chief Copper Todd had fallen off a cliff and that his body body had been found with a half-empty bottle of spirits nearby the inquest into his death announced:

A post-mortem examination carried out on the body of the police chief found on Snowdon found no signs of trauma from a jump or a fall.

and:

Todd was found to have 105 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood in his system, Caslin said. The legal limit for driving is 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres.

In their headline on the subject the next day, The Guardian very forcefully told us that:

Police chief had high blood-alcohol level, inquest confirms

while the BBC, more correctly, stated that:

Manchester police chief Michael Todd did not have a "huge" amount of alcohol in his blood when he died on Snowdon, the coroner said as his inquest began.

I mention the difference in reporting on the blood alcohol level because I find it hard to understand how someone with less than one and a half times the legal blood/alcohol limit for driving could be described as having a 'high blood-alcohol level' especially when one considers the fact that he was on foot and in Britain a blood/alcohol level of 105 mil per 100 could not possibly be considered above average given the high level of alcohol consumption prevalent amongst the population at large.

Nor was he driving at the time, so how the level of alcohol in his blood has any relevance to the legal blood/alcohol limit whilst driving a motor vehicle is beyond me.

That said, the level of blood/alcohol in his blood was, as I said less than one and a half times the legal driving limit.

As many are no doubt aware, the legal limit is purposely set at a very low level so as to ensure that any one driving a vehicle could not legally do so if their alcohol intake was sufficient to impair their driving ability.

Hence, to say that Mr Todd had a high blood-alcohol level, when the level was a mere 105 mil per 100, is quite misleading. Why The Guardian sub-editor that wrote the headline wished to mislead us is a question open to debate...

There has been some speculation that Chief Constable Todd was the victim of some shadowy Seekrit Service plot as a result of his 'investigation' into CIA 'rendition' flights reported to have passed through British airports carrying kidnapped Muslims on their way to be tortured in compliant 3rd world dictatorships/client-states. The implication is that he stepped on some very sensitive toes in the course of his 'investigation'. I find such speculation to be fairly laughable in light of what our good friend Lord Patel wrote on the matter:

This was not, we must remind ourselves, in any way an official enquiry, he was not empowered to seek out evidence or witnesses, no crimes had been reported or recorded, no Minister had officially sanctioned such an enquiry, it had not been approved by anybody. ACPO has no legal authority to sanction any such enquiry. Indeed the letter he wrote to doe eyed media star Sami, was on Greater Manchester Police notepaper. (PDF!)

"On behalf of ACPO, " Mr Todd wrote, " I agreed to look at the issues. None of the airports involved are located within my own police area and, consequently, I was able to look at the issues with a degree of independence." Ho.Ho.Ho.

"UKIS and HMRC’s respective interests in General Aviation Reports relate to identifying risk in relation to passengers declared on the form and on movement of prohibited and restricted smuggled goods. Passengers who remain on board an aircraft that lands on UK soil, for example to refuel, are regarded as airside transit passengers and not normally subject to immigration or customs control unless they seek to enter the UK. Both Services firmly point out that if their staff suspected that passengers were being transported illegally or in breach of their human rights, this would be passed to the relevant authority – most likely the Police in the first instance."

"I am encouraged by the reassurances from my colleagues in HMRC and UKIS about the action their staff would take if they thought that these offences were being committed at a UK airport. I can add that police officers would take such allegations made to them, whether from UKIS, HMRC or any other source seriously and take appropriate action including boarding aircraft, if necessary, to investigate."

It appears that no aircraft were boarded, or if they were Chief Constable Todd had not discovered any evidence that they had.

Mind you, he didn't spend a lot of time or effort in looking. Or did he ?

Something that happened on the night of Wednesday, the 13th of March, 2008, may also have escaped your notice. It was announced that Inspector Neil Munro, 43, of Dorset, apparently jumped off a cross-Channel ferry.

A commended police inspector has died after apparently jumping off a cross-Channel ferry, it was revealed today. Inspector Neil Munro, 43, boarded the Brittany Ferries ship alone late last night in Poole, Dorset. The married father-of-one - the third policeman thought to have killed himself in the space of four days - went overboard in Poole Harbour a short time after it set sail at 11.45pm.

Now for those of you that are counting:

That’s two three peelers immediately declared ‘suicided’ by the media in the space of a three days.

For some reason the words 'Bryn Estyn' popped into my head as soon as I heard the news of the First Policeman.
With the addition of the Second Policeman, the word 'Jersey' is also firmly lodged there.
Now that we have news of a Third Policeman, both of those words can now be joined by the word 'Portsmouth' also.
